Adrienne Bailon on Shakira: “I’m A True, Old-School Shakira Fan” (EXCLUSIVE)

We got the chance to chat with the lovely Adrienne Bailon recently at Orgullosa's exclusive “Skirts Only” fashion show.

Held in New York City, the event was attended by the 29-year-old singer/actress, amiga Christina Milian and other Latina celebs, and aimed to inspire Latinas to celebrate their cultural heritage.

The stunning Bailon [who donned a bright fuschia skirt in honor of the initiative’s MUJERES CON LAS FALDAS BIEN PUESTA™ community] spoke to us about everything from her must-have spring beauty picks to Shakira’s highly anticipated coach gig on The Voice.

“I’m a true Shakira fan! I don’t just love her English music. I go from way back to Dónde Están Los Ladrones? [Shakira’s 1998 album]” the Puerto Rican/Ecuadorian celeb said excitedly like a true fan of the Colombian superstar.

In fact, Bailon loves Shaki so much so that she busted out with “bruta, ciega, sordomuda, torpe, traste, testaruda…” – lyrics from the singer’s 1998 hit song. “I’m a true, old-school Shakira fan…” No doubt – we also miss when Shakira donned dark locks with multicolored threads intertwined.

“To see her on a show like this is an American Dream,” Bailon added. “A colombiana who wanted to do mainstream music and now she’s on one of the biggest shows on mainstream television.

Oh, and Shakira’s beautiful accent – yes.

“She celebrates it and I think that’s a wonderful thing!” Bailon said.
