Graduations don’t just happen in the real world — they happen in Hollywood, too. This month, several Latino stars are graduating from kid parts to more grown up roles.
Congrats to Hollywood's class of 2011!
1. Grads: Victoria Justice
Victoria Justice, 18
Was: A guest star on the hit Nickelodeon series, Zoey 101.
Is: The star of her own hit Nickelodeon series, Victorious, with a promising music and movie career ahead of her. The Puerto Rican actress-singer is currently recording her debut album and has landed the lead role in the coming of age comedy, Fun Size, directed by Josh Schwartz (creator of Gossip Girl and The OC).
2. Grads: Tyler Posey
Tyler Posey, 18
Was: Ty Ventura (Jennifer Lopez's son), a little boy with major stage fright in the rom-com, Maid in Manhattan (2002).
Is: Really sexy with his shirt off! Seriously—have you watched MTV's Teen Wolf?
3. Grads: Selena Gomez
Selena Gomez, 18
Was: A Disney starlet best known for her role as magician, Alex Russo on the hit series, Wizards of Waverly Place.
Is: Graduating from Disney. Selenita recently taped her final episode of Wizards and is quickly becoming an in-demand actress on the big screen. Her next movie role is in the chick flick, Monte Carlo, in theaters July 1st. Oh yeah, she's also dating the biggest teen star on the planet AND her third album, When the Sun Goes Down drops on June 29th.
4. Grads: Diego Boneta
Diego Boneta, 20
Was: Best known for his recurring roles as Javier Luna on the CW's 90210 and Alex Santiago on ABC Family's Pretty Little Liars.
Is: The next Tom Cruise. The Mexican heartthrob was recently cast as the lead in the new movie musical, Rock of Ages, opposite Cruise, Catherine Zeta-Jones and Alec Baldwin.
5. Grads: Demi Lovato
Demi Lovato, 18
Was: The title character, Sonny Monroe on the hit Disney Channel show, Sonny With A Chance.
Is: Following a four month stint in rehab for physical and emotional issues, the Mexican actress-singer is focusing on her career as a solo artist in the music industry and is already working on her next album.
6. Grads: Raquel Castro
Raquel Castro, 16
Was: Jennifer Lopez's adorable pint-sized daughter, Gertie Trinke in the Kevin Smith rom-com, Jersey Girl (2004).
Is: Guaranteed to rock the music world. Raquel was a fan-favorite on The Voice, and even though she didn't make it to the finals, her coach, Christina Aguilera said the tiny singer with the powerful voice is destined for greatness in the music industry.
