While most celeb couples avoid each other like the plague after they split, Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck join a line of celebs, including Cameron Diaz and Justin Timberlake, who remain buds. The two, who have quite a lot of history together (dated from 2002 to 2004, were engaged, started the whole name blend trend with “Bennifer,” Affleck actually laid one on J.Lo’s booty in her “Jenny From the Block” video), have been cool with each other post breakup. Here are five ways they've managed to stay friends.

They still exchange emails. In his October 2012 cover story in The Hollywood Reporter, Affleck dropped some pretty juicy deets about his current relationship with Lopez, who called off their wedding in Sept. 2003 before officially ending their engagement in Jan. 2004.

"We don't have the kind of relationship where she relies on me for advice, but we do have the kind of relationship where there'll be an e-mail saying, 'Oh, your movie looks great,'” he said. “I remember when she got American Idol. I said: 'This was really smart. Good luck.' I touch base. I respect her. I like her. She's put up with some stuff that was unfair in her life, and I'm really pleased to see her successful."
