5 Latino TV Characters You Don't Want to Mess With

Something awesome happened in the season six premiere of Showtime's hit serial killer drama Dexter (Oct. 2)—Lauren Velez's character (the ambitious and tough Maria Laguerta), was promoted from Lieutenant to Captain of Miami Metro Homicide! And if you thought Laguerta was tough before her big promotion, then get ready, because Laguerta is loving her new promotion and the power that comes with it. We're just four episodes into the new season and already she has told off Deb (Jennifer Carpenter) and Batista (David Zayas), and she pulled rank on the latter. The Puerto Rican actress's awesome performance on the new season got us thinking about other Latino characters who enjoy telling people off. Here are a few of our favorites!

The 7 Funniest Latino Stars on TV This Fall!

1. Lana Parrilla

Lana Parrilla, 34

In the new ABC drama Once Upon A Time, Puerto Rican actress Lana Parrilla plays two badass characters—Regina, the calculating Mayor of the town of StoryBroook and the Evil Queen, a violent woman who vows to destroy Snow White's (Ginnifer Goodwin) life. "Of course there's a side of her that likes to f*** with people," Parrilla says of Regina. But she says her evil queen character isn't entirely evil. "There's a pain that exists inside of her and that's why she does the things that she does," says Parrilla. "She's extremely wounded."

2. Naya Rivera

Naya Rivera, 24

As the bitchy cheerio Santana Lopez on FOX’s Glee, half-Puerto Rican actress Naya Rivera delivers hilarious insults to her peers. Our favorite Santana-ism? It’s a tie: We love it when she says, “Only straight I am is straight-up bitch,” but we also love it when she insults her classmate Finn (Cory Montieth) with one liners like this: “Oh, please. You have weird puffy pyramid nipples—they look like they’re filled with custard. You could dust them with powdered sugar and they could pass for some sort of desert." So young, yet so cruel!

3. Anjelah Johnson

Anjelah Johnson, 29

When you go to McDonalds or Burger King, it's easy to walk up to the counter and place an order, right? Not if the person taking your order is Bon Qui Qui, the rude fast food employee portrayed by Mexican comedian Anjelah Johnson on Mad TV. Bon Qui Qui spent a ridiculous amount of time on the phone talking to friends (when she should've been working), she refused to take "complicated" orders, and when a customer politely asked for something she didn't know how to make, she called "SACURITY" on them. Translation? This is one fast food employee you do NOT want to mess with!

4. Evelyn Lozada

Evelyn Lozada

in season two of VH1's hit reality show Basketball Wives, cast member Tami Roman learned that her co-star (Puerto Rican reality star Evelyn Lozada) had slept with Kenny Anderson (Roman's ex-husband) while she was still married to him. Drama ensued and Tami got in Evelyn's face to confront her about the rumor and that's when Evelyn called Tami "a non-mother******* factor." The entire ordeal was captured by the VH1 cameras, and after the episode aired, Evelyn created t-shirts with the catch phrase and sold them on Twitter. (This is why no one should mess with Evelyn!).

5. Martin Sheen

Martin Sheen, 71

Sheen portrayed Josiah "Jed" Bartlet on The West Wing. In one of the show's most memorable moments, Josiah has a fight with God at a Cathedral.
