6 Latinos Who Have Fought Gay Rumors

Daddy Yankee was buzzing on Twitter yesterday after rumors surrounding his sexuality resurfaced – and it isn’t the first time. After a fake photo of two men (one of who some say looked a lot like El Cangri) kissing made its rounds on social media, the Boricua reggaeton star’s rep issued out an official release blaming “online blogs” and “social media” for the spread of false news reports.

Daddy Yankee

El Cangri has addressed gay rumors before. It was once rumored that the 36-year-old artist “came out” during a press conference, and another whisper circulated that he was spotted in a gay establishment. Last month, Daddy Yankee took to Twitter to let his fans know, “Remember that the Internet is where lies become truth and the truth is a myth.”

Racist S*** People Say About Latinos in Movies (VIDEO)

At Latina, we love nothing more than when movies—especially popular ones!—make references to Latinos and, or Latino culture in the United States. Why? Because it is yet another example of the fact that Latinos have arrived and that we're very much a part of the mainstream media.

Easy A (2010)

We're big fans of this Emma Stone comedy which pays homage to some of the greatest teen movies of all time (and we love the irreverence and general badassness of the main character Olive Penderghast). But there's one scene (and one movie line) in Easy A that kind-a, sort-a rubs us the wrong way. While accepting money from a fellow classmate to pretend she "fake rocked his world," the male student tells Olive (Stone) that all he can afford for payment is a coupon, to which Olive replies: "How's that my problem, amigo?" She adds: “I knew he wasn’t Latino, but for some reason all of these shady backdoor deals had me talking like Carlito.” Then, as if that weren't bad enough, she sends him off by saying:”Beat it, ese.” Umm, really?

Rick Ross Isn't Alone: The 25 Most Offensive Rap Songs (EVER) About Women

Miami rapper Rick Ross, who recently came under fire for his date rape lyrics on “UOENO,” has since (sort of) explained the lyrics. On New Orleans radio station Q93 he said, "I would never use the term rape in my records, in my lyrics. And as far as my camp, hip-hop don't condone that, the streets don't condone that, nobody condones that."
