Bachatero Romeo Admits He Was a Bad Father

Former Aventura frontman Romeo Santos hasn’t always had a great relationship with his son.  The 29-year-old Dominican-American singer admitted to turning his back on 10-year-old Álex for the first two years of his life. 

“It wasn’t planned and I fled like a coward,” he told People en Español.  “Our relationship was from a distance.”  At 19, Romeo learned that his ex-girlfriend was pregnant after they had a chance rekindling of their romance. 

The singer, who has gone solo with his first single "You", attributes his attitude to immaturity.  “I said, ‘No, no, no.’  I felt like a kid having a kid.”

At least he's man enough to admit his mistakes now and has worked hard to be a better father.
