The women of Hollywood have spoken, and it's a global movement. While women wear black at the Golden Globes against sexual harassment and assault in Hollywood, Jennifer Lopez stands with them from Puerto Rico.
On Sunday, the Puerto Rican actress and former professional baseball player, Alex Rodriguez, spoke out on behalf of Isla Encanto and to show support for the #MeToo and #TIMESUP movements. The two advocates were reminding the nation that the island is still in need of a lot more support.
In the spirit of equality, the Shades of Blue star said, "Today is the Golden Globes in Los Angeles and a lot of the women with #TIMESUP are standing up for equality, to be treated equally, and for sexual harassment, and I stand here today in black doing the same from far away. And it's the same thing with here in Puerto Rico we want to be treated equally." With a cracked voice full of emotion from Lopez, the Sharktank judge clapped in support of the movement and his love.
Loyal fans and followers of Puerto Rican star's quickly flooded her comments with pride and gratitude. "I stand with you and all women across this nation!! And the world,' said one fan while another agreed "I’m from Loíza and I can’t thank you enough for helping us with our peoples health. It’s about lives and you’re helping lives."
Lopez continues to support the aid of Puerto Rico along with other A-listers, and we couldn't be prouder.
Women and men of Hollywood at the 75th Gloden Globes in Lost Angeles wore all black attire in solidarity for those who have been victims of sexual abuse, harassment, and assault.
Thank you J.Lo for trading a night of glam to be the change in our community.
