Adam Levine Slams Critics Over Christina Aguilera's Weight Gain

Christina Aguilera and co-star Adam Levine have had their share of tense moments on The Voice, but the pop singer admits that he has her back when it comes to critics targeting X-Tina over her weight.

The Daily News reports that Adam spoke to reporters on Friday and slammed haters who have issues with the “Your Body” singer’s curves. "The one thing about the culture right now, celebrity culture particularly, is people feel like they can just say nasty things about other people whether it's Christina or whether it's me." He also added, “She gets a lot and it pisses me off. Of course I have her back and of course I defend her.”

Despite what critics say, the Grammy-winning singer has expressed on several occasions that she embraces her voluptuous body and prefers the way she looks now. She told Lucky for their September issue, “Actually, the challenge I’ve always had is being too thin, so I love that now I have a booty, and obviously I love showing my cleavage.”

X-Tina has also proven to fans that you don’t have to be stick thin to be secure in your own skin. “Hey, if you can work it and you can own it, that confidence is going to shine through,” she expressed.

Now that she's coming out with her new album Lotus, Christina is making sure not to be phased by negative comments. In a recent fan interview, she said, “This album represents to me the unbreakable flower that no matter the harshest weather conditions, it survives and it thrives.”
