Christian Siriano Channels Isla Mujeres, Mexico For His Spring 2014 Collection

Christian Siriano has incredible fashion shows and campaigns and that’s in part to where he pulls his inspiration from. His Fall 2013 collection drew from Russian Opera and the Spring 2013 line was dreamt up after Siriano saw a performance of the American Ballet Theatre's The Dream. For his Spring 2014 debut, the designer was inspired by a trip to Isla Mujeres in Mexico, otherwise known as the "Island of Women.”

Graphic, black and white pencil skirts and cropped little jackets were showcased alongside floral brocade separates in punchy hues. With the crop top trend still going strong, Siriano had no problem tapping into that. We can also see these gorgeous pieces paired with crisp white, high-waisted jeans and shorts this season.

We were also loving the floral embellishments on this pale green shift dress—no detail is overlooked when it comes to Siren’s creations. The designer said of his pieces: “For spring 2014, I wanted to make it a modern, yet authentic, representation of the Mexican culture that is still appealing to women around the globe. The collection is a celebration of the female form as seen through a romantic lens to capture a youthful vibe.”
