Demi Lovato and Selena Gomez have made Billboard’s annual ranking of music’s most powerful minors. The 21 Under 21 list includes pop singers, producers, and actors and it’s actually no surprise to us that both made the cut; Lovato and Gomez’s careers are seriously caliente right now.
19-year-old Lovato ranked number 7 on the list. The teen actress/singer’s career flew to new heights this summer after the first single “Skyscraper,” off her new album Unbroken, rapidly shot to number one on iTunes. Gomez, who is half Mexican, surpassed her friend’s spot with a cushy seat as number 3. The 19-year-old cover girl just wrapped up the American leg of her “We Own the Night” tour and, according to Billboard, her band’s sophomore album is poised for a top 10 arrival on the Billboard 200. Others who made the cut are part-Puerto Rican Nickelodeon star Victoria Justice, who ranked tenth, and Gomez’s sweetie Justin Bieber, who topped everyone at number one.
As for Lovato, she's been crazy busy since her album’s release. This week, she delivered a powerful performance on Dancing with the Stars (DWTS) right before she delcared her support for her friend, Rob Kardashian, who is currently a contestant on the show. “Everyone vote for my very good friend @RobKardashian tonight on Dancing With the Stars!!!! #VOTE4ROB,” she tweeted.
