It seems as though Christina Milian’s Twitter-savvy hands have caught someone’s attention. NBC’s hit show The Voice has tapped the Cuban American singer as its new social media correspondent for the second season, Us Magazine reports. The 30-year-old, who was our February cover girl, will replace Alison Haislip from G4.
In a statement, Paul Telegdy, the network’s President of Alternative and Late Night Programming, said that Milian’s musical background and recognition make her the perfect choice for the role in the announcement NBC released yesterday.
“Her experience as a singer will provide a comfort level to our artists when they speak to her about the ins and outs of the competition,” his statement read. “She is a hugely valuable addition as we prepare for another spectacular season.”
Of course, its only fitting that Milian tweet about the news. Yesterday, she wrote: “So I'm officially your eyes and ears behind and beyond the stage for @NBCTheVoice so if your a major fan u may wanna #FOLLOW me! :)” We have been following her for a while, but we’re going to keep an even closer eye on Milian’s Twitter account now.
The new season of The Voice premieres February 5th. Congrats to Milian on her new gig!
