Vergara is a Colombian-born actress, entrepreneur and model. She became widely known in the late 90s for cohosting several TV shows on the Hispanic network Univision. Her first notable English acting gig was in the 2003 film Chasing Papi. She has also appeared in other films, including Tyler Perry’s Meet the Browns and Tyler Perry’s Madea Goes to Jail. Vergara reached stardom in her role as Gloria Delgado-Pritchett on the critically acclaimed ABC sitcom Modern Family, for which she has been nominated for a Golden Globe, a Primetime Emmy and three Screen Actors Guild awards. She is releasing her first clothing line, Sofia Vergara for Kmart, in the fall of 2011.

Sofia Vergara is truly glamming it up for a recent spread in Vanity Fair. For the magazine’s October issue, the 39-year-old Colombian actress is featured in a spread dressed in a variety of revealing outfits. For the shoot, Vergara was photographed at the Randall Jackson residence in New York City by Norman Jean Roy.

Sofia Vergara has been talking up her style and new clothing line, which hits Kmart stores in September. During a photo shoot with USA Weekend, the 39-year-old Colombian actress said she loves dressing up. “I won’t leave the house without at least mascara or lipstick. I think that’s a Latin thing,” she said. “My mother would wake up in the morning to take us to school, and she was already putting on mascara.”
