Happy birthday, Perez Hilton! Born Mario Armando Lavandeira, Jr., Perez turns 36 today. To celebrate his special day, we're taking a look at how Perez has transformed through the years, both on the inside and out.
1. Weight Loss
The "Queen of All Media" admitted that he struggled with his weight his entire life, so when he dropped an impressive 70 pounds, he was thrilled. "I feel wonderful," he told Shape magazine.
2. Became a Dad
On February 16, 2013, the 36-year-old Cuban American welcomed his first child, a son named Mario Armando Lavandeira III. Now the proud daddy can be seen in snapshots bonding with his little cutie.
3. Involved with It Gets Better Project
It Gets Better Project
In Ocotober 2010, Perez became involved with the anti-bullying campaign It Gets Better Project. Perez posted a YouTube video in conjunction with the project apologizing bullying celebrities via the malicious tone on his website. He promised to change up his site, even if it meant losing readership. Bravo!
4. Wrote a children's book
In 2011, Perez published a children's book titled The Boy With Pink Hair. He admits the book was inspired by his own childhood and was written in hopes that it would make a difference to those who were feeling excluded and desired to belong.
5. Involved with Pedarazzi
Perez recently became involved with a campaign called Pedarazzi. It's a no kids policy campaign where celebrities are pushing websites and publications to stop publishing photos of children which have been taken by paparazzi. As a participant in this campaign, Perez no longer publishes such baby pictures on his blog.
