9 Bisexual & Sexually Open Celebrities

Over 1.8% of the population identifies as bisexual. In other words, 4.5 million people consider themselves sexually attracted to males and females, and place themselves someplace in the middle of the sexuality spectrum.

Michelle Rodriguez's frank admittal of her bisexuality last year got us thinking: what other Latino celebrities have opened up about their fluid sexuality? From Cameron Diaz to Fergie, these stars have all talked about their bisexuality or open sexuality:

1. Cameron Diaz

Cameron Diaz certainly isn’t shy about discussing her personal life, and that includes her sexuality. Although she’s never acknowledged whether she’s straight, gay, or bisexual, she has admitted that she’s been with women in the past.

The actress, who’s been linked to high-profile men such as Justin Timberlake, Alex Rodriguez, and Jared Leto, told Glamour UK that she believes all women have a tinge of sexual attraction for fellow mujeres.

“I think women are beautiful, absolutely beautiful,” she said. “And I think that all women have been sexually attracted to another woman at some point. It’s natural to have a connectivity and an appreciation for the beauty of other women.”

2. Michelle Rodriguez

After years of speculation, Michelle Rodriguez came out as bisexual in October 2013, telling Entertainment Weekly she goes both ways. “I’m too f***ing curious to sit here and not try when I can. Men are intriguing. So are chicks,” she said.

She later told us that she chose to finally come out because she’s getting older. “Eventually it’s going to wrinkle up, and I’m not going to be able to use it,” she said. “I wanted to be honest about who I am and see what happens.”

The Fast & Furious actress has been recently linked to supermodel Cara Delevingne, and said she has no regret about opening up about her sexuality. “I’m not big on people’s opinions, you know? Unless it’s somebody I really respect. I don’t care what people out there have to say.”

3. Fergie

Fergie, who’s married to actor Josh Duhamel, has spoken openly about her love and appreciation for women. In 2009, she admitted to The Sun that she’s had a romp (or two or three) with women in the past.

“Put it this way, I’ve experimented definitely. But I have never had a steady girlfriend,” she said.

4. Christina Aguilera

Christina Aguilera has spoken multiple times about her fluid sexuality. In 2004, she told Zoo Magazine, “I love experimenting with my sexuality. If that means girl then so be it. It would be wrong to hide this side of my personality.”

Six years later, in 2010, she echoed the same sentiment. “I feel sexuality to be very empowering,” she said. “I think men love to believe that they own our sexuality, so it a woman represents herself in a sexual way, people think, ‘Oh, it must be for a man.” But men don’t have the right to own our sexuality. If I want to be sexual, it’s for my own appreciation and enjoyment! That’s why I like to talk about the fact that sometimes I am attracted to women. I appreciate their femininity and beauty.”

Later, she opened up even further in an interview with Out. “I don’t get to kiss all the girls and the boys, but my [ex] husband knows that I get into girls. I think it’s fun to be open and play. The line is real to me. My husband and I check in with each other, but I definitely love women. I think they’re more attractive to the naked eye.”

5. Zoe Saldana

In early 2013, Zoe Saldana told Allure that she was open to the idea of raising children with another woman. When the magazine asked if she had ever had a relationship with another woman, she told them to simply write “…”

Later, she elaborated on the statements: “I’m going to love and admire beauty, no matter if it comes in the form of a masculine essence or a feminine essence. Beauty is beauty. So, up until now, I’ve known my life to be with men, I’ve been attracted to the male species, but if one day I wake up and I want to be with a woman, I’m going to do that. And I know I am going to be supported by the creatures that have raised me and love me and know me.”

6. Snooki

In a frank interview with The Huffington Post, Snooki admitted that she falls somewhere in the middle of the sexuality spectrum.

“I would consider myself bi,” she said. “I’ve done stuff with girls before. But I would never be with a girl because I like… penis. But I’ve experimented.”

The pint-sized reality TV star once got hot and heavy with Deena Cortese on an episode of Jersey Shore, but she’s now engaged to Jionni LaValle, with whom she has one child. They are currently expecting baby no. 2.

7. Joan Baez

In 1972, American folk singer Joan Baez became one of the first celebrities to officially “come out" to a major magazine.

“[Baez] exuded an imperious sexual neutrality that was a key part of her attraction (to men and women),” the New York Times wrote about the bisexual singer and songwriter.

8. Daniela Mercury

Brazilian singer Daniela Mercury announced her bisexuality in April 2013 and married Malu Vercosa, a journalist and the head of TV Bahia.

Mercury came out on Instagram, posting a photo of her and Vercosa with the caption, “Malu is now my wife, my family, my inspiration to sing.”

9. Raul Esparza

Actor Raul Esparza has been very open about his sexual fluidity. In a candid interview with The New York Times, he admitted to falling in love with a male instructor at New York University.

“He was tough and impossible and manipulative and brilliant and really inspired and believed I’d be a big star… The best thing about him is he made me feel like a great person, no matter what I was doing. He didn’t seem to feel gay or straight was much of an issue.”

Esparza eventually married his high school girlfriend, Michele Esparza, and maintains that he is bisexual. The two divorced in 2008.
