Ay, Adam Levine

The boys aren't cutting Shakira any slack on the new season of The Voice. Last week, the Colombiana settled in to her red chair for the sixth season of the singing competition. It wasn't long before fellow judge Adam Levine started poking fun at her Latino accent.

When Starbucks barista Delvin Choice, 24, took the stage to perform "A Song For You" by Donny Hathaway, all four judges turned around -- and began battling it out for the chance to take Choice to the top of the competition the Huffington Post reports.

"You are the singer I have been waiting for, and look at this hand right here," Shakira told Choice. "I, Shakira Mebarak, born in Barranquilla, Colombia, solemnly swear that I am going to take you to the top in this competition." turns out, Levine wasn't too eager to give up on Choice. Impersonating Shakira's accent, Levine told the competitor: "I promise you, Adam Noah Levine from Los Angeles, California, I'm going to take you to the top! I solemnly swear -- No problem! You come to my team, okay?"

Shakira quickly broke in laughter, and reacted to the joke later on Twitter. "I have to give credit where credit's due -- well played @adamlevine! Your strategy is considerably better than your Latino accent ;-)."

Check out the clip below. We have to agree with Shakira -- Adam should stick to singing!
