Love em or hate em, Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber know how to keep things interesting. The on-again, off-again couple just can’t seem to make it work...but they also can't seem to call it quits for good.

When Selena Gomez first met Justin Bieber, they both maintained they were just friends. Rumors started flying in 2010, and Gomez was quick to laugh them off. “He’s little!” she told Ellen DeGeneres. “He’s like my little brother!”
Young Love Is In The Air:
There was no denying a relationship was in bloom when Biebz and Gomez were spotted getting cozy on a yacht in St. Lucia. The two were seen kissing and cuddling on the love boat, all but confirming their new romance. A few weeks later, they officially announced their relationship when they arrived at the Vanity Fair Oscar Party in February 2011 together.
Save The Drama For Your Baby Mama:
In November 2011, the young couple survived their first major hurdle: a paternity suit. A woman named Mariah Yeater contested that then 17-year-old Justin Bieber was the daddy of her four-month-old child. She alleged that the two had unprotected sex after a concert the previous October. The charges were later dropped, and Gomez and Bieber seemed as strong as ever immediately following the lawsuit.
Bye Bye, Bieber:
In November 2012, the couple officially split up. At the time, sources cited busy schedules as the cause for the breakup. The day the news of the split hit the presses, Bieber appeared on a radio talk show and refused to acknowledge the drama. “I don’t know what’s going on in my life,” he said. “To even assess that it doesn’t make sense ‘cause I have not made any comment.”
Uh, okay, Bieber.
Don’t Cry For Me, Justin Bieber.
Selena Gomez didn’t seem to be sweating the breakup too much in the months following their split. In March 2013, she hilariously told David Letterman that she had made her ex-novio cry. "The last time he was on, he and I got into a conversation," David Letterman told her. "He said something and I said something and he said something and then I said something...and I made him cry."
"Well, then that makes two of us!" Gomez quipped.
Wish I Knew How To Quit You:
Despite all her witty jokes, Selena Gomez couldn’t stay away from Bieber for very long. In April 2013, the “Believe” singer took to his Instagram to share a cozy-looking photo of the two. A shirtless Bieber was flanked by Gomez, and the caption read, “You’ve been makin music too long babe come cuddle.”
Gomez, however, was quick to warn her fans about jumping to conclusions. “I’m in my twenties,” she said. “I wanna have fun. I wanna enjoy my life and not have to worry about every single thing.”
Over the next few months, the two were spotted several times together, including on the Fourth of July and at Selena Gomez’s 21st birthday party in late July. However, Selena Gomez maintained that they weren’t back together, even telling Ryan Seacrest that she was single in November 2013.
Love The Way You Look At Me:
In January 2014, the couple made headlines once again when they were spotted riding segways together in Calabasas, California. Shortly afterwards, Bieber posted a romantic snapshot of the two, showing Gomez hugging the singer from behind. The caption read, “Love the way you look at me.” Rumors started flying that the two were dating again.
In early 2014, Justin Bieber got a little more than he bargained for during a raucous trip to Miami. He was arrested in the Florida hotspot for driving under the influence and drag racing. The day after his arrest, Gomez hit the town with her best friend, Demi Lovato, and looked perfectly happy and content. Unfortunately for Biebz, he was arrested again just a few days later in Toronto, Canada. This time, the police brought him in on assault charges.
In January 2014, Selena Gomez also found herself in a difficult position when news broke that she spent two weeks in a rehab facility in Arizona to deal with issues unrelated to substance abuse. The pair slipped from the spotlight, and everyone assumed they had taken a break from each other to focus on their individual issues.
Several weeks after his arrest, Bieber took to Instagram once again to declare his admiration for his ex-novia. “Most elegant princess in the world,” he wrote, alongside a picture of Gomez in a striking gold gown at the 2014 Vanity Fair Oscar Party. Was he trying to become her Prince Charming once again?
Texas Sized Romance:
Gomez and Bieber enjoyed a romantic weekend getaway in Texas in March 2014. The two were spotted making out at a local Starbucks, enjoying the grub at a Mexican joint, and choregraphing dances at a local dance studio. Later, Bieber released steamy videos of the pair dancing to John Legend’s “Ordinary People.” It seems all but confirmed that the pair are officially back together....for now.
The couple's romance came to a halt just after the Coachella Music Festival in April. For months, no one heard from the couple, and they weren't spotted together publicly. Everyone believed they were over (again), especially when Bieber was spotted flirting with Adriana Lima at the Cannes Film Festival. Gomez never commented on the break up, although she did post a gorgeous bikini selfie with the caption, “Taking my power back.” You go, girl.
Back Together… For Now
The twosome all but confirmed they had reignited their romance in late June 2014. First, Bieber posted — then deleted — a picture calling Gomez his “unconditional love.” Then, the twosome were spotted riding motorcycles together and partying the night away at Bootsy Bellows in Los Angeles. Over the next week, the couple were spotted at dinner, at the movies, and even at Bible study. It appears the two are very much back together… for now, at least.
