In a recent interview with Seventeen, Selena Gomez admits that she suffered through a horrible break-up right when she turned 20. And yet, despite her neverending Justin Bieber drama, this past year has been Selena’s best yet: she released an album, starred in Spring Breakers, went on a world tour, and collaborated on clothing lines with KMart and Adidas.
Clearly, the Mexican-American superstar has a lot to teach us about bouncing back from a breakup. Here are the five things we've learned from Selena Gomez about how to win a breakup:
1. Embrace Your Power

Embrace Your Power
We’ve all been there: rough breakups can affect you physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. When you’ve been with your partner for a long time, it can be hard to discover who you are without them.
Selena Gomez admits that finding your power after a breakup can be difficult, but it’s necessary to embrace your independence and focus on your personal ambitions. She dished to Seventeen about how she reacted following her breakup from Justin Bieber. “Then I turned 20, and went through a really bad breakup,” she says. “And I realized I need to have ‘Come & Get It’ be amazing. I wanted it to be all me. I’m glad it’s taken me this long to get where I am because now I am ready for it.”
2. Do What You Love

3. Focus On Family

4. Girl Talk

5. A Little Rebound Never Hurt Anybody
