Selena Gomez Reportedly Battling Lupus

When Selena Gomez announced that she was cancelling her Australian and Asian tour, rumors swirled about a potential stint in rehab. The actress and singer cleared up the speculations, announcing that she simply needed to take time to herself.

However, according to The Huffington Post, Gomez, 21, may have cancelled the remainder of her tour because she's been battling lupus.

Sources told Popdust that the Mexican-American singer was diagnosed with the autoimmune disease a couple of years ago, and suffered multiple "flares" recently. These flares cause facial swelling, extreme fatigue, headache and joint pain.

"Selena has been going full throttle the past few years, and her lupus is really catching up with her right now," a source told the website. "She knows that she needs to take some time to address the disease and look after herself better if she wants to live a full and healthy life."

The Huffington Post reached out to Selena Gomez's reps, but they had "no comment" when asked if she was suffering from the disease.
