Salma Hayek's Brother Hospitalized After Involvement in Fatal Car Crash

Salma Hayek's younger brother, Sami, was involved in a fatal car crash in Los Angeles on Sunday, according to E! News.

Sami was reportedly driving his 2006 Ford GT along Sunset Boulevard at around 4:50 p.m. when he lost control, crossed over into oncoming traffic, and collided with a pickup truck.

The 40-year-old sustained several broken ribs and a laceration to his head, according to the LAPD's accident report. He is currently under care at UCLA Medical Center.

Sadly Sami's passenger, 43-year-old Grammy Award-winning art director and photographer Ian Cuttler, died at the scene from major blunt force trauma according to L.A.'s CBS 2 News.

It remains unclear what caused Sami to lose control and the accident is still currently under investigation.
