Rosario Dawson stars as Dolores Huerta in Diego Luna's Cesar Chavez film, but the 34-year-old actress says Huerta deserves her own movie.
“It’s a movie that synthesizes 10 years of a movement into an hour and a half, so I don’t think it even touches or scratches the surface of what Dolores has given us throughout the years," Dawson said, according to The Huffington Post, "but I hope that with the movie’s success there will be opportunities to tell her story, because she’s still writing it, she’s still there at the frontline doing her job."
The Cesar Chavez star revealed she'd be more than happy to help make this happen by producing the story about Huerta herself. Dawson also notes that playing roles like that of the civil rights activist is what she loves most.
"I have a tendency to gravitate toward stories like that, (portraying) particularly strong women," she said, according to Fox News Latino.
"I like playing women who make their presence known in their community."
Do you agree that there should be a movie made about Dolores Huerta?
