Breaking up is hard to do -- and so is letting go of the bling.
Melanie Griffith filed for divorce from longtime husband Antonio Banderas on June 6, but she's not ready to give up her ring quite yet. On Tuesday, the actress ran errands in Los Angeles wearing her wedding band and a billowy, sleeveless top which exposed her upper-arm tattoo -- a homage to her estranged husband.
The couple, who split after 18 years together, announced that they had "thoughtfully and consensually" decided to end their marriage. Now, the pair faces the challenge of divvying up their impressive assets.
According to People, the couple's combined fortune amounts to over $50 million. Additionally, they own homes in Los Angeles, New York City, Aspen and Spain.
A longtime friend told the magazine that Banderas "is a shrewd businessman; he has a lot of investments and business interests. Melanie's no slouch either; they don't spend money they don't have. They are very proud of that."
Unsurprisingly, friends claim that money had nothing to do with the break up. "Obviously, money never seemed to be an issue with them," a source told People. "I don't think you'll find out that they're divorcing over money."
Griffith requested spousal support from Banderas -- and apparently, she also wants to keep the ring.
