What would you say are some similarities, if any, between you and your character Pamela?

Similarities? I’m very passionate in life and I’m very determined. I’m willing to fight for what I want and for whom I love, and I think that’s a couple of things that we do have in common. But we don’t have too many similarities. We definitely didn’t have the same upbringing. I mean there’s obviously a lot of stuff that I put into the character that are me because that’s how you play your part -- you have to bring yourself into it.

But then you have to add to the equation how she was raised and what her relationship with her parents [was like]. I think that there [are] some similarities with having father issues and some other things, but none as extreme as Pamela has gone through. I think there are more differences than similarities with her, but at the end of the day it’s me playing her. So I build the character around what I know about her and then just put myself there.

Okay, fair enough. What are some of the things that you absolutely love about her?

I love her no-bullshit state of mind! I think she doesn’t put up with a lot of crap. I think that’s what I like about her. I like that she’s strong – she’s a strong woman. She knows what she wants and she goes for it. She has a lot of respect for herself, and she’s very confident. I do have to say that I love playing that about her because I, in my life – especially as an actor – you know, we’re all insecure; we all have something to be insecure about. But she is so confident. She walks into a room and owns it. And I don’t walk into a room and own anything – I really don’t own shit. I just walk in and try to hide. She walks in, and she’s like, “Here I am! What’s happening?” And I love playing that aspect of her. I love her confidence.

That’s very cool. So is it safe to say your love life is less extreme than Pamela’s?

Absolutely. I’m very happy with having not as extreme relationships as this woman does [Laughs]. I definitely don’t have a lot of worries in my life about what’s happening with my husband. I don’t have a husband, but if I did, I wouldn’t have that worry about whether he’s cheating on me or not. No, no.

[Laughs] Okay, we totally understand that point. So is there anything specifically that we should be looking out for in the third season?

To be honest with you…and I hope to say this about every year from now on, for as many years as we hopefully go for…this is definitely our best year yet. The scripts are really strong. The characters are very strong. There are [definitely] jaw-dropping moments. You know, we’re pushing the envelope this year. We’re definitely racier and sexier, and there’s a lot to look forward to. There’s all the stuff that make Dallas, Dallas. There’s a wedding, there’s death, and apparently, there’s going to be a pregnancy.

Exciting!

I mean there are so many things that are happening. I can’t really say who [is pregnant] or what [will happen] because I don’t even know. But there are a lot of moments that are going to shock people. I think we’re definitely pushing the envelope.
