Jennifer Lopez to Receive Icon Award at 2014 Billboard Music Awards

Billboard announced today that Jennifer Lopez will be honored at the 2014 Billboard Music Awards with the Icon Award.

The Icon Award is a lifetime achievement award and Billboard's ultimate honor!

"Jennifer Lopez is one of the most iconic performers of her generation,” said Larry Klein, producer of the Billboard Music Awards, in a press release.

“We are thrilled to honor her historic career with the 2014 Icon Award and will be on the edge of our seats like everyone else when she takes the stage.”

The 44-year-old superstar will join the ranks of Stevie Wonder, Prince, and Neil Diamond, becoming the fourth artist and the first woman to receive this award, which recognizes artists remarkable and enduring contribution to popular music.

In addition to this distinct honor, J.Lo will also be taking the stage at this year's Billboard Awards to debut the official anthem of this year’s FIFA World Cup, “We Are One (Ole Ola),” alongside Pitbull.

Lopez will also be performing her latest single "First Love" off her upcoming album AKA.

The 2014 Billboard Music Awards will air live on ABC on Sunday, May 18 at 8 p.m. ET!
