Latina on the Runway: Victor De Souza Backstage Beauty Is All About Fancy Ladies

Victor De Souza's Spring/Summer 2015 collection kicked off New York Fashion Week. The controversy surrounding the show's use of horse drawn carriages may have overshadowed the beautiful designs of gowns and separates from the New York designer.

"The concept for the show centers around fancy ladies who become stranded," says  De Souza. Models clad in stunning dresses were sent down the runway with dramatic beauty looks.

Today was a bit of a crazy day for me. Everything seems to always happen at once. Or is it just me?

Anyway, the time has finally come and I have to pack. Ugh! I HATE packing! But I'm so excited because tomorrow I'm flying to New York for Fashion Week!

Dimelo: "My Friend Has Turned Into A Competitive Monster"

Dear Pauline,

Ayudame, por favor. My friend has entered my work industry. A once fun and trusting friendship is quickly becoming a competitive relationship. Because she was my friend, I introduced her to key people in the industry. Now, she is proudly closing deals and growing quickly. She doesn't return my calls anymore. When I see her at networking events, she's quick to let people know we are friends but never introduces me to new connections. How do I salvage our friendship? Is it too late?

Dimelo: "How Can I Convince My Mother That My Older Boyfriend is Good For Me?"

Dear Pauline,

I'm a 20-year-old college sophomore and I'm moving in with my 45-year-old boyfriend at the end of this month. I could go on and on about how awesome he is and about how he wants me to pursue my education and be an activist when it comes to the things I'm passionate about (DREAM act, immigration reform, etc.) and how he is just as passionate as these topics as I am, going to events and supporting me every step of the way. It's really awesome.

Latina Loves: Have You Tried Blue Apron Yet?
Latina Loves: Have You Tried Blue Apron Yet? Here's Why You Should

You guys, I've seen the light. As a single New Yorker, I find myself ordering takeout and eating snacks as "meals," more times than I really care to admit. (Okay -- all the time.) That is, until I found out about Blue Apron. The company is slowly and surely teaching me some things in the cocina, and it's resulting in some delish meals and Instagram-worthy foodie photos. Sorry, I'm one of those people.

Dimelo: "Is It Okay For Girls to Ask Out Guys?"

Dear Pauline,

My best friend and I are having an argument right now that we've turned into a bet. I say it's okay to ask a guy out and that waiting and hoping is old-fashioned thinking. She says being the one to ask makes a girl look slutty and desperate and that waiting for him to notice you might be old-fashioned, but that that alone doesn't make it wrong. We are 16 and we've never had a boyfriend or been on a date yet.

Dimelo: "I've Never Had a Boyfriend"

Dear Pauline,

I'm almost 23 and am a fourth-year-college student who spends more time in the psych lab than I do on the dating scene. I've never had a boyfriend and, to be honest, I've never even been on a date, although a waiter at a restaurant I go to likes to flirt with me. There's also a soccer-player I know who has talked me a lot since freshman year. I'd like to get to out there more but am not sure how to do that without losing my integrity and self-respect.
