'White Collar' Fires Natalie Morales, 'Parks and Recreation' Hires Her!

You know what they say: You win some, you lose some. Last week, Cuban actress Natalie Morales—who you might remember as the lead in ABC Family’s The Middleman—was let go from her regular contract on the USA Network show, White Collar

Morales, 24, first appeared as a guest star on White Collar last summer as Lauren Cruz, a smart junior FBI agent in the white collar divison who holds her own with her superiors. Last September, she was promoted from guest star to series regular on the series, replacing actress Marsha Thomason, who played FBI agent Diana Lancing in the show’s pilot episode. In a strange turn of events this week, White Collar has decided to replace Morales with (drumroll please) Marsha Thomason! What are they doing over there?

A rep for Morales confirms to Vivo Por Tivo that Morales is being let go from her White Collar contract in order to to bring back Thomason, and adds that White Collar star, Tiffani Amber Thiessen, has something to do with it.

"Thiessen will be on maternity leave when the show returns to production and the producers were looking to add another female voice to the show and decided to bring back the Diana character, which caused overlap for Natalie’s character," says the rep.

But fear not, Natalie Morales fans: A couple of days after Natalie got fired from her white collar job, the news broke that she had was offered another job—allow me to rephrase: a better job! Morales has been tapped for a role on NBC’s hit comedy, Parks and Recreation as Lucy, a smart and funny busgirl at a local Pawnee bar. She will appear in the same episodes as Rob Lowe, who is joining the show as a guest star.

Natalie took to Twitter on Wednesday to deliver the news: “Shooting Parks & Rec today. So excited!!!”

We’re excited for you too Nat, especially since it's is a way better show than White Collar. Go get 'em, girl! What say you think? Are you excited to see Natalie on Parks and Recreation? Dish in the comments section below!
