Puerto Rican actor Jimmy Smits (Dexter, NYPD Blue) is getting his briefs in order—legal briefs that is. The hunky Boricua actor has agreed to star in a new untitled pilot for NBC, reports TVGuide.com.
The legal drama centers on a “by-the-book Supreme Court Justice (Smits) who excuses himself from the bench to go into private practice and fight constitutional injustices.” Smits will also serve as co-executive producer of the series, along with John Eisendrath (best known for producing shows like Beverly Hills, 90210 and Alias),
This isn’t Jimmy’s first time starring in a legal drama. In fact, he’s played this kind of role his entire career, whether it was his Emmy-winning role as Victor Sifuentes in the 1980 legal drama, L.A. Law, or his work as District Attorney, Miguel Prado on Showtime’s hit drama, Dexter. Are you looking forward to getting debriefed by Smits? Dish in the comments section!
