Is "Ugly Betty" Star Ana Ortiz in a Love Triangle with a Firefighter and the Karate Kid?

When the fourth season of ABC's Ugly Betty premiers on Oct. 9, Hilda Suarez (Ana Ortiz)—who has a black belt in breaking hearts (seriously, Freddie Rodriguez, Kevin Alejandro, David Blue, Eddie Cibrian and Chris Gorham have all been dissed and dismissed by Hilda)—will be waxing poetic about not one, but two potential love interests, both of whom are Italianos! Multiple sources confirm that Adam Ferrara, perhaps best known for his role as the caring and wise chief firefighter "Needles" Nelson on the critically acclaimed FX series Rescue Me, is joining Betty for four episodes. And now, Ralph Macchio (aka The Karate Kid) has taken to his Twitter account to announce that he, too, will be returning to Betty next season: "4 all inquiring about Ugly Betty," writes Macchio. "Just got the official call that Archie will b back in Season 4. 4 how much, how long and when. Don’t know yet." If you recall, Macchio's character, Archie, showed up last season as a local politician who was very interested in romancing Hilda.

For now, details on Macchio's return are scarce, and the same goes for Ferrara's role. What I do know for sure is that Ferrara will play a Queens contractor who crosses paths with Hilda. The actor, a stand-up comedian who has appeared on The King of Queens and on the big screen in Paul Blart: Mall Cop and Definitely Maybe, will have some stiff competition from Mr. Miyagi's favorite pupil. Not only is Macchio better looking than Ferrara, but his character also has a much better job (in this economy, who would you prefer: a contractor or a wealthy and connected politician?). But knowing Hilda's track record, it's not clear which one of these guys she'll wax on and which one she'll hastily wax off! I guess we'll have to wait until Season 4 returns to find out.
