"Ugly Betty" Moving to Wednesday Nights!

We told you it could happen, and now it has! Beginning Jan. 6, Betty Suarez and the rest of the Mode gang are moving to a brand new night and time: Wednesday at 10 p.m. The Witches of Eastwick, which formerly occupied the juicy timeslot, got the ax (or should I say, the broom?) last month.
Betty joins ABC’s successful all-night comedy block, including the hit shows, The Middle, Modern Family and Cougar Town. (That lineup is much stronger than Betty’s current Friday night counterparts, Supernanny and news show 20/20. Plus, in all likelihood, Betty will benefit from the lead-in audience of Courtney Cox's Cougar Town, a show that is similar to Betty in tone.

This move to Wednesdays is great news for Betty fans. The show has been struggling in the ratings ever since ABC decided to move it from its former Thursday night time slot (where it was a success) to the Friday night death-slot last spring. If Betty had stayed on Friday nights any longer, it would’ve probably been cancelled by early spring. Now it's got a fighting chance!
