It was pronounced dead in September after just two episodes, but the Ashton Kutcher-produced series The Beautiful Life has found new life on YouTube.
Starting this week, all five episodes of TBL—the two that aired on the CW back in September and three others that never aired on TV—will be available on Youtube without commercial interruption, courtesy of funding from Hewlett-Packard. All five episodes will be available for viewing for at least six months.
In all likelihood, this news has put a smile on TBL star Sara Paxton’s face. In a conversation with me back in September, the Mexican actress blasted the CW for their rude decision not to air episodes 3, 4 and 5 of the show. Sara told me that she was proud of those episodes and she wanted TBL’s fans to get a chance to watch them. Now they can, thanks to Ashton’s determination to bring the show back!
Kutcher has high hopes for the series on Youtube: “If we put this thing on the web, more than a half a million people will watch this on the web. I want this to be the first show ever that gets more viewers on the web than what it got on television,” he said.
With over 4 million followers on Twitter, if even half of Ashton’s Twitter check out the show online that could help TBL become popular enough to allow the show to live on, either on the web or, better yet, on TV.
What do you think of TBL’s resurrection? Are you going to watch the show on Youtube like I am? Dish in the comments!
