Melonie Diaz, 25, has signed on for a three-episode guest-starring role on FX’s plastic surgery drama, Nip/Tuck, Vivo Por TiVo has confirmed. She’ll play Ramona, a beautiful Latina in her 20s who helps her fiancé Matt McNamara (John Hensley) confront his two fathers, Sean (Dylan Walsh) and Christian (Julian McMahon) about their less-than-perfect parenting skills.
The Boricua Diaz, 25, is best known for her role opposite Jack Black and Mos Def in the comedy Be Kind Rewind, and for a string of other indies, including Raising Victor Vargas (2003), Lords of Dogtown (2005), A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints (2006), Itty Bitty Titty Committee (2007), and Hamlet 2. In 2008, she was named Queen of the Sundance Film Festival, an honor she shares with previous distinguished winners like Winona Ryder, Kristen Dunst and Chloë Sevigny.
This is Diaz's first TV role since she appeared in one episode of Law & Order in 2003, and I'm so happy to see her doing some television work! And though Nip/Tuck is infamous for giving most of their new characters some form of surgical "enhancement," a source close to the show assures me that Diaz will not be getting any work done on the show. That makes sense, since the beautiful actress and all-around nice person is perfect just the way she is!
Diaz's episodes are slated to air in early 2010 when Nip/Tuck returns for its final season.
