Just two weeks after I told you that Benjamin Bratt will be guest starring on an episode of the ABC comedy Modern Family, EW.com’s Michael Ausiello says the Peruvian hunk will also make a guest appearance on the NBC show that made him a household name a decade ago—Law & Order.
In an episode slated for later this season, Bratt, 45, who starred on L & O from 1995-1999, will reprise his Emmy-nominated role as Det. Rey Curtis on the long-running series for the first time in 10 years! (If you recall, his character was written out of the show in season 9 as having retired to take care of his sick wife, who suffered from multiple sclerosis).
Sources say Bratt’s single episode back (lets hope he does more than that!) will reunite him with S. Epatha Merkerson’s character, Lt. Anita Van Buren. Rumor has it, his storyline involves being there for her during her fight with cancer. L & O creator Dick Wolf is excited to have Bratt back. "I am thrilled that Ben is coming back for a return appearance…He joined us for our recent 20th anniversary celebration and it was like he never left,” he said.
Bratt, who will shoot the episode next month, rebounds fast! Just last month, A & E pulled the plug on his critically acclaimed drama, The Cleaner—which starred Bratt as a former ex-con and heroin addict turned interventionist—after just two seasons. What a way to make a comeback!
Are you as excited for Ben’s Law & Order return as I am? Which of his guest appearances—Modern Family or Law & Order—are you looking forward to the most? Dish in the comments!
