Casting Ideas for Sexy New "Lost" Role

Can I get a bidi bidi bum bum? I am overjoyed to report that when ABC’s Lost returns in early 2010, the hit show will introduce a new character named (wait for it)…Selena! According to TVGuideMagazine.com, Lost is looking to cast a 30-something-year-old actríz to get freaky with “one of the attractive male cast members” on the show. Selena is described as “a striking beauty who knows how to use it.” Rumor has it she’s also a corporate type who is “mischievous and confident—until a deal goes wrong and she no longer knows whom to trust.” The role of Selena has not been cast yet, so I thought I'd help out the show's casting directors. Here are five sexy Latinas that I'd love to see in the role.
1. Courtney Ford, 31: If you’ve been watching Dexter this season (and really, who hasn’t?) then I’m sure you know that Ford—who plays Quinn’s (Desmond Harrington) ambitious reporter girlfriend, Christine Hill, on the show—is hot, hot, hot! And I’m also sure you know that Courtney is not at all bashful about shedding lots of skin (heck, she’s like the TV Kate Winslet)! Both of those qualities alone make Courtney a great choice to play sex-buddy Selena, but what makes Ford most appealing is her ability to play a character with a personality disorder. She can go from sweet to super bitch in a matter of seconds. I can totally see Ford playing a woman who becomes a juicy villain after the man she loves betrays her trust.
2. Aimee Garcia, 30: Garcia, who is Mexican and Puerto Rican, brought brains, confidence, sex appeal and general badassness to her role as Marisa Benez, an Iraq War Veteran turned helicopter pilot on the NBC series, Trauma. Now that the series has been cancelled by NBC, Aimee is free to bring all of those kickass qualities to another show—preferably Lost!
3. Julie Gonzalo, 28: You might remember Gonzalo from her small (but charming) roles in the films Freaky Friday and Dodgeball, or more likely, from her role as Maggie Dekker (Jonny Lee Miller’s girlfriend) on ABC’s short-lived drama Eli Stone. No matter where you know her from, if you’ve seen her act, you know that Gonzalo is exactly what Lost is looking for: “a striking beauty who knows how to use it.” Soft-spoken and classy, this Argentinean beauty would bring a sweetness and a warmth to the character of Selena that would make it believable for either Sawyer or Jack (or both) to fall deeply in love with her.
4. Q’orianka Kilcher, 19: In director Terrence Malick’s 2006 film, The New World, this Peruvian actress played the lead role of Pocahontas, and despite her A-list Hollywood co-star's good looks and celebrity, she was without a doubt the most beautiful thing on the entire island (sorry, Colin Farrell). So if Lost really wants to cast a striking beauty as Selena, they could do a lot worse than Kilcher, who at 19 possesses a maturity way beyond her years.
5. Paz Vega, 39: If you look at her age, Spanish actress Vega seems like she might be a little too old for this role. But she's not. How do I know, you ask? Go to Blockbuster, and rent Frank Miller's The Spirit. Watch it. You will have no further questions!
Who would you like to see play Selena? Do you like my choices? Dish in the comments!
