Just one week after Mexican actress Sara Paxton lost her job on the CW's The Beautiful Life after just two episodes, The Hollywood Reporter says A&E has pulled the plug on Peruvian actor Benjamin Bratt's show The Cleaner—after just two seasons. The show, which is the network's first scripted series in more than six years, was not renewed for a third season.
Inspired by the touching true story of real-life interventionist Warren Boyd, the critically acclaimed drama starred Bratt as William Banks, an ex-con and former heroin addict who used his team of fellow former addicts to help others overcome their drug addictions. The series first premiered in July 2008. Earlier this month, Bratt won a well-deserved ALMA Award for Best Actor in a Drama Series for his genial performance in the show, as well as a 2009 Vivo Por TiVo Award for Best Actor (Drama).
