Shakira Gets Wild in Her New Video

I can’t wait to see the finished version of Shakira’s “She Wolf” music video this Thursday. It was directed by Jake Nava, who also worked on Beyoncé’s “Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It),” which I think we can all agree was a pretty hot video. I’ve only heard snippets of what we can expect, but apparently two real howling wolves encircled the Colombian singer on the set.

“The story of this video is about Shakira getting in touch with her inner she-wolf, which I think is a kind of predatory sensuality that lurks inside every woman,” explained Nava in a behind-the-scenes interview.

The filmmaker shot the artist inside a big golden cage meant to confine a wild animal: “I’m in the cage and I’m going a little bit wild and I get a little carried away and start doing all kinds of outrageous stuff and hanging upside down and doing stuff that wasn’t planned,” Shakira recently told MTV News.

If that doesn’t pique your curiosity, I’m not sure what will. Maybe she’s sowing her wild oats? She has been making the rounds lately talking about her yearnings for a baby (or “little wolf,” as she puts it). Either way, here’s a preview of the video—check out those crazy red nails:
