Grammy Award–winning music producer Emilio Estefan has worked with Shakira, Ricky Martin, Marc Anthony, Jennifer Lopez and many other luminaries. And now he can add President Barack Obama to that list. The president recently appointed the Cubano to be on the "Commission to Study the Potential Creation of a National Museum of the American Latino."

According to the museum’s website, the institution would be a permanent home for “historical artifacts, images, and personal stories documenting over 500 years of American Latino contributions to the United States.” The commission will be in charge of producing a national conference and fundraising plan; reporting on the availability and cost of collections to be included; finding a good location for the museum; figuring out the organizational structure of the museum; and getting folks like you and me involved. Where do I sign up?
