The glass is always half full for Chayanne. The Puerto Rican balladeer’s upcoming album is titled Nada Es Imposible (out Feb. 23) and it’s all about hope and optimism. “There are people who are living very difficult situations these days, people who are having a bad time, the message I want to share with this new work is that we must keep fighting and working without losing our dreams, and that nothing is impossible,” he recently said.
Perhaps that belief (and talent, of course) would account for the 41-year-old Boricua’s longevity in the music business. This next production is his 22nd album, and he’s as excited as ever: “For me, the career is always new because each album marks a new stage and a new start,” he has said. Chayanne, who has sold over 12 million records worldwide, asserts that the essence of who he is as a performer hasn’t changed. “My style is based on the sentiment I transmit”—and the kind of romance that never goes out of style, I’d say.
