Jorge Is Through! Tatiana Is Back! Pigs Are Flying!
Okay, last night's American Idol elimination/wild card pick extravaganza was so fraught with shock announcements and cliffhanger moments, I don't even know where to start!
First, the good news: Jorge Nuñez became the first native boricua to make it to Idol's Top 12, and I could not be happier. He had so many endearing on-camera moments this week—from shouting out his fans in Spanish to lamenting the "freezing" 78-degree Cali weather—that I think his fanbase will only grow from here.
Then, the perplexing news (or terrible news, depending on how you view it). Tatiana Nicole Del Toro is baaack! The judges shocked everyone by giving Del Toro a second shot as a wild card pick, and just as you'd expect, she did not take it in stride. She nearly fainted and bawled like a baby/semi-crazy person, and I've decided that I will heretofore refer to her as La Llorona.
Overall, I'm pretty happy with the wild card picks, but I would have liked to see Felicia Barton and Ju‘not Joyner instead of Tatiana and Von Smith, whose hair gets loonier by the day. But, c'est la vie.
What did you think about Jorge making the Top 12? And what about the surprise Wild Card pick of Tatiana—do you think she'll pull out all the stops tonight and have a chance at making the cut?

I'm so happy that Jorge made it! Congratulations Jorge. I'll definitely watch the show and vote for you every week. I'm sure you'll do great and keep touching our hearts us with your voice.
About Tatiana, I think she should have been selected for the top 12. She sings beautifully. She just gets very emotional. She would have gotten a handle on that pretty soon after knowing she would be on the top 12.
It's unfair that the judges, especially Simon, thought that she may not be able to sing any other song. That's ridiculous. Of course she would sing different songs. Come on!!! Why did they not take it against the "other" one who sang the same song. I could understand why she sang the same song. The judges told her she sounded great, so why would she take a chance and change it?
I couldn't wait to hear her sing again in the following shows to come. She would have made the show more entertaining. Definitely more than some others in the show will.
In any case, I know she'll make it even if it's not on American Idol.
As Paula said " she will not only be an artist, she'll also be an actress".
You go Tatiana!!
