Jennifer Lopez Tries to Stop Ex From Making a Film About Her

Jennifer Lopez is telling her first husband to back off in a cease and desist letter her attorneys sent the producers of How I Married Jennifer Lopez: The J-Lo and Ojani Noa Story. The movie chronicles her relationship to the Cuban waiter in what is being described by the filmmakers as a “mockumentary.”
According to Lopez’s lawyers, the flick is in violation of a 2007 court order injunction that forbids Ojani Noa from sharing “private or intimate details” about the 40-year-old diva. The legal doc was issued two years ago when word got out that he was about to write a tell-all about their yearlong (1997–1998) marriage, detailing her alleged infidelities, including the time he found her shacked up in a hotel room with Diddy.
Still, Noa is sticking by the film, and is calling it a Borat-style parody. “The whole movie is about me coming to this country and getting my dream shut down by somebody who I thought was a good person,” he told TheWrap.com. “I was totally in love with her. I gave my soul to her. It wasn’t my fault she shared it with 3 people. I was angry.” Hmmm, doesn’t exactly sound like light fare.
In a recent interview, Lopez did admit to not taking her marriages, pre–Marc Anthony, seriously: “I don’t even think I tried in my other marriages, which was immature and not knowing better. I believe that in life you learn through experience. I’m old enough to know now that relationships take work. That it’s not an easy thing.”
The aftermath of a relationship can also be difficult, as Lopez, no doubt, has learned. Ojani Noa is not the first guy to bad-mouth the beautiful Boricua. Earlier this year, Ben Affleck spoke about his time with Lopez, saying, “I felt suffocated, miserable and gross.” Ouch! Hopefully, the mother of two will be able to put the kibosh on Noa’s story before it goes any further.
