It’s time to give a little. Celebrities around the world are coming together this weekend to help earthquake victims in Haiti. Watch and donate.
Hope for Haiti Now: A Global Benefit for Earthquake Relief telethon airs tonight at 8 p.m. (ET) across ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX and other networks. Organized by MTV and George Clooney, the event will feature musical performances from New York and Los Angeles and live reporting by CNN’s Anderson Cooper from Port-au-Prince. The star-studded line-up includes Shakira, Christina Aguilera, Beyonce, Alicia Keys, Madonna, Mary J. Blige, Bono, Bruce Springsteen, Justin Timberlake and Stevie Wonder, among others. All donations will go to Oxfam America, Partners in Hearth, Red Cross, UNICEF and Wyclef Jean’s Yele Haiti Foundation. The goal is to “raise money, period,” Clooney told MTV News this week. “If I thought that we could all pick up shovels and go in there and not be in the way, I think a lot of people would do that.”
"Unidos por Haiti," a special four-hour edition of Sabado Gigante, airs on Saturday at 7 p.m. (ET) on Univision and Galavision. Artists on-board include Alejandra Guzman, Gloria Esterfan, Natalia of La Quinta Estacion, Olga Tañon, Thalia, Shakira, Ricky Martin, Chayenne, Daddy Yankee, David Bisbal, Pee Week and Willy Chirino. And as always, Don Francisco will serve as master of ceremonies as he brings us stories from his trip to Haiti this week. All throughout (and after) the program, viewers will be able to make donations directly to the American Red Cross.
