Aventura and Juan Luis Guerra Hit the Stage at Madison Square Garden

Aventura is in the midst of a sold-out four-show run at Madison Square Garden. Tonight is their final concert in support of their fifth album, The Last. What can we expect? So far, the fans have been treated to surprise guests like Marc Anthony, Akon and Wisin & Yandel.

And last evening, the Bronx-born bachata band upped the ante by inviting Juan Luis Guerra on stage. The king of Dominican music sang a medley of “Burbujas de Amor,” “Frio Frio,” and “Bachata Rosa” and dueted with the group’s lead singer Romeo on the track “Un Beso” from the New Yorkers’ album. “That was beautiful,” said Romeo after the performance with JLG. (I got goose bumps just watching a shaky video of it. Now imagine the real thing.)

Needless to say, Aventura will likely finish their tour with a bang tonight. My guess is Ludacris and Wyclef (both collaborated on the song “Spanish Fly”) are bound to make an appearance. What do you think? And as for Juan Luis Guerra, we should be seeing more of him in the coming months. The two-time Grammy winner has a new album in the works for June.
