Allison Iraheta is Ready for What Tomorrow Brings
Allison Iraheta is Ready for What Tomorrow Brings
America Idol season eight alums have started dropping their debut releases with mixed outcomes. Winner Kris Allen’s self-titled album had disappointing first-week sales returns, and runner-up Adam Lambert’s For Your Entertainment received mixed reviews (much like his saucy performance at this year’s American Music Award). Next up we have Salvadoran rockera Allison Iraheta, whose first record, Just Like You (19 Recording/Jive Records), hits stores tomorrow. What can listeners expect from the fiery 17-year-old?
For starters, it was produced by heavy-hitters like Max Martin (Pink, Katy Perry) and Howard Benson (Daughtry, Creed), and features songs written by the likes of Pink, (A.I. judge) Kara Dio Guardi and Chris Daughtry, who competed in the fifth season of the reality competition. “It’s definitely a pop record with a rock edge over it,” Iraheta said in an interview with the Associated Press. “It’s kind of crazy.”
I guess we’ll just have to wait and see, um, hear. In the meantime, go here to see the video for the record’s first single, “Friday I’ll Be Over You."
