Allison Iraheta Is Moving On With a New Single

Oh yeah! American Idol alum Allison Iraheta is one of the hardest working teens around. The 17-year-old Salvadoreña, who placed fourth during season eight, just wrapped up the Idol tour this summer and has been recording her as-yet-untitled debut album (out Dec. 1 on 19 Recordings/Jive Records) ever since.
We’re finally getting a preview of what’s to come with the incredibly catchy single “Friday I’ll Be Over U.” Produced by Swedish songwriter Max Martin—he also penned Kelly Clarkson’s “Since U Been Gone”—the breakup song has the makings of a radio hit with its pop-rock sound, in-your-face lyrics (“oh woah, woah/ you gotta go”) and those familiar raspy vocals.
And though we haven’t heard much about the rest of the album, we do know she’s collaborating with other equally impressive producers, including Kevin Rudolf (Pitbull, Nelly Furtado, Black Eyed Peas), who gushed about the red-headed rockera a few months ago to MTV.com: “I think Allison is, like, probably one of the most talented singers out in the world right now…I just want to make sure she gets great records and special attention.”
You can download “Friday I’ll Be Over U” on iTunes starting Tuesday, Oct. 20. Until then, listen to it on PopEater.
