Hello, fashionistas! (Who, me? you might say. Yes, you!) If you’re reading this, you must have some interest–an addiction, perhaps–to fashion. Well, so do I. As Latina’s Fashion Director, I’m always on the lookout for the best items we chicas should own. So I thought, why not write about my favorite picks on Latina.com? Here goes…this is my fashion blog, Retail Therapy, where I’ll be searching the web for the best deals and the hottest items–whether it’s a pair of Louboutins on sale or the latest looks from H&M–and bringing them straight to you. Let the therapy session begin!
Here we are in mid-November–prime time to start thinking about the holidays. Of course, instead of planning the gifts I’m going to buy, or which meals I’ll cook for all those family gatherings, I automatically begin thinking of what I’m going to wear. Because of the tough economic times we’re all facing, it looks like most of this year’s holiday parties will be at my friends' apartments…but that’s no reason for me to look fashionably incorrect!
When I’m choosing an outfit, I always start out by visiting my fave online shops for inspiration. I was pleasantly surprised to see that one site had it all planned out for me. For their 2008 holiday collection, GAP has created complete, head-to-toe outfits suited for every type of holiday occasion: cocktail parties, office parties…even a romantic holiday date. My personal favorite? The “Party Classic” look, which features this tiered ruffled dress ($78, gap.com). Don’t be scared of ruffles, girls! This style will look good on everyone. I plan to wear this dress with black opaque stockings and round-toe platform pumps, and once I add a cropped jacket in a bold color, this cutesy frock will become a complete look with a trendy, downtown vibe.
Click away to order yours, and instead of sitting in dreaded mall traffic, now you’ll have time for all those lil’ holiday chores…like trying to master the age-old coquí recipe. See you at the next session, ladies!
