Emmy night was glamorous, full of surprises, and I’m not sure about you ladies but I woke up with a fashion hangover. And while I look ahead to days where we will see more Hispanic representation at such a prestigious award show, today we celebrate the talent and the beauty of those that rocked the red carpet at the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles, California last night.
It’s no surprise that our girl Sofia Vergara is on every “Best Dressed” list from the 65th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards! This Colombiana knows how to accentuate her curves and show off just enough skin to keep things muy sexy and sophisticated.
During the red carpet pre-show, Vergara discussed how much she loved the lace details of her red Vera Wang gown and even admitted to wearing undergarments from her own collection at K-Mart!
Christina Hendricks is not a Latina by birth, but as a fellow big-busty female, she’s become a style icon for many of us. The “Mad Men” star kept her look classic with a floor-length black Christian Siriano gown that featured delicate lace from the cap sleeves to her thighs. The sash around her waist was the perfect touch to show off her hourglass figure.
Tina Fey always looks pretty at awards shows, but with the help of designer Narciso Rodriguez, she graduated to the “muy caliente” category! Fey had jaws dropping when she hit the red carpet in this custom made cobalt blue gown with a halter neckline. The “30 Rock” creator needs to keep the Cuban-American designer on speed dial!
Ahead of award shows, I love to guess who will be daring with both color and style. I was pleasantly surprised to see “Mad Men” actress Jessica Paré take the plunge in a strapless Oscar de la Renta. The teal color worked beautifully with her dark locks and blue eyes.
I’m not sure if it was her pregnancy glow or her stunning ruby red Alexander McQueen dress-- but Morena Baccarin had me enchanted! The “Homeland” beauty, who is ready to welcome her first child into the world at any moment, also wore Charlotte Olympia heels, a Rauwolf clutch, and Fred Leighton jewels.
Let Morena serve as an example to fellow preggo ladies out there: you can still look sexy with a baby bump!
Sofia Vergara is not the only fashionable “Modern Family” star! Sarah Hyland’s fashion evolution peaked last night as she stepped out in a lace, green and black CH Carolina Herrera dress and Giuseppe Zanotti heels. Now that she has set the bar so high, I hope she keeps her future red carpet ensembles as chic and sophisticated.
Cobalt blue was definitely one of the hottest trends of Emmy night. Rocsi Diaz took on hosting duties looking flawless in a Michael Costello mermaid gown and Loren Ridinger jewels. The structured bodice and pointed details at the neckline make this look one-of-a-kind.
Kerry Washington didn’t take home an Emmy last night, but she was a winner on the red carpet. The “Scandal” star looked breathtaking in a Marchesa gown from their 2014 spring collection. Kerry personally selected the cream and gold-toned ensemble with flower appliques after seeing it on the runway during Fashion Week.
