We have a month, you guys. Four weeks to try and cram every single aspect of what it means to us to be Latino during Hispanic Heritage Month from Sept 15 to Oct. 15 is a lot of pressure. Trying to touch on all aspects of who we are and where we come from and where we are going as American Latinos is a bit like trying to see all of Disney World in one weekend.
All I can think is that I'm going to forget to officially recognize something important like how café con leche is totally not the same thing as coffee with cream. Or why telenovelas are not just a girl thing like American soap operas tend to be and a raw egg in a glass of water on the nightstand means some things don't change and we like it that way.
That's important, ya'll.
