Okay. We need to talk.

First I want to know if you remember singing the words to the Star Spangled Banner in elementary school. I do.

Now I want to know how you feel about the onslaught of recent headlines about Twitter getting twitchy because Marc Anthony may or may not rolled his R's while singing "God Bless America."

That's UnAmerican, says Twitter. He has an accent when he says the words, says Twitter. Why isn't Kesha performing instead, says Twitter.

How does that make you feel?

How's it make you feel to know that an 11-year-old Mexican-American boy from San Antonio, Texas, was publicly slammed for singing the national anthem at the NBA Finals because it somehow didn't seem American? And that the ignorance doesn't stop just because the guy with microphone happens to be named Marc Anthony.

I'll tell you how it makes me feel: Mad and amused. And yes, you read that right.
