Latina Fitness With Evelyn Lozada: Why I'm Not Self-Conscious About Cellulite...Anymore!

Mujeres, you aren’t alone…we all have it, and if you are in that 10% bracket that doesn’t…then LUCKY YOU! What am I talking about? CELLULITE!!!

For women, having cellulite and trying to get rid of it can be an uphill battle. Wouldn’t you just love to wear a swimsuit without a cover up around your tush and leg area? It isn’t easy getting rid of cellulite because it’s caused by fat deposits that distort the skin's connective tissues, giving us that not so cute cottage cheese look. :(

For a very long time, I was self-conscious about cellulite on my thighs. One day, I decided that I needed to do something about my cellulite, so I started by tricking my body into burning fat! Now, I want to share my secret and tips with you!

To start you have to focus on the lower body and strengthen those muscles. I usually work on this problem area four days a week.

STRETCH. I normally begin with stretching for 5-7 minutes. Stretching helps to build a little strength in the legs.

CARDIO. After stretching, I begin with 20 minutes of cardio.  Now, if you don’t have a treadmill or elliptical at home, then go outside and walk, walk, walk!  If you live in a two-story home…go up and down the stairs. If you live near a stadium or school, I suggest you walk the stairs there also!  Cardio will help burn calories and reduce your fat!

LUNGES. This exercise will work the glutes, quads, inner and outer thighs and hamstrings. Try to do three sets of 15 lunges per leg four days a week and watch your results!

SQUATS. This exercise will help build the muscles on your thighs and buttocks, the areas of the body where cellulite is known to show. Try to do three sets of 15 four days a week.

You can make your squats and lunges more difficult by adding weight or resistance bands.  You can also make your cardio difficult on the treadmill by increasing the incline.

Don’t forget that with strength training, you need to change your diet as well. Try to cut down on salt, fats, alcohol and preservatives.  Next week, I will reveal the best foods to help reduce cellulite along with these strength-training exercises!  Summer will be here before we know it and we have to look good in our swimsuits, chicas!

Xoxo,

Evelyn!
