How many times have you heard that Michelle Rodriguez is one crazy broad? Well, you can imagine what went through my mind as I hopped on a plane to Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, a couple of days ago to catch up with the New Jersey-reared, Dominican/Puerto Rican actress to talk about her current and upcoming projects including Lost, the fourth installment of Fast & Furious, James Cameron’s Avatar, and Tropico de Sangre, an indie about the life of Dominican martyr Minerva Mirabal, which she also co-produced.

Fashion week officially kicks off today here in NYC. Designers will begin showcasing their Fall 2009 collections under the tents at Bryant Park and other venues throughout the city.
With so many shows to cover, the editors here have had to come up with strategic plans for their schedules over the next eight days. As you can see, the highlighters and colored pens are out in full force—these ladies don’t play.

Actor Ramon Rodriguez visited our offices this week to talk about his upcoming film projects: Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen and The Taking of Pelham 123. We chatted it up with the Puerto Rican hottie, who told us about his adventures in Egypt and Jordan while filming Transformers, what Latinos he admires in the industry, and how he was once a salsa instructor.

Every once in a while, a celeb comes along who surprises me with how cool they are. And by cool, I don’t mean awesome, I mean how well they handle the whole fame thing; how they can still carry on a real convo; and how, even when I’m doing my best to sneakily ask questions about their personal lives, they answer candidly (or decline to in a polite way).

We're only hours away from a new president and I can't wait. I'm not sure I can cry more tears than I did on election night, but I'll get the box of tissues ready just in case! As we anxiously await this historic moment, check out my article for USA Today about what Barack Obama's election means to me.
