Tomorrow I’m moving out of my studio apartment in Manhattan to make the cross over to Brooklyn! Although I'm sad to leave my home, I am anxious to start summer off with a fresh new place.
This week, as I was packing dishes, clothes and my bajillion pairs of shoes, I reminisced about some of the wonderful memories I’ve had in this apartment. From having my girlfriends over for cocktails before a night on the town to long winter nights spent snuggling up with Jack—it all seems like a distant memory now. I smiled as I sealed and taped up the last box, realizing I was sealing up more than just a piles of boxes. In more ways than one, I am moving on.
A new apartment, a new borough and a newly single status in New York City. And that's what life is all about; moving forward while still being able to look back and smile about the good times.
As I say my good-byes to people and places that have taken a piece of my heart along the way this past year, I welcome and hope for a summer full of family, friends, sunshine and adventure!
As the cold air fades and the sun’s rays seep into our souls, tell me: What are your hopes for this summer?
