Update Your Bed With a New Headboard

Hi, guys! Hope you had a fantastic Valentine’s Day! Love is still in the air this month, so if you’re looking for ideas to relight the spark in your bedroom, here are some inexpensive solutions for bringing a bit of style to your private sanctuary.
Keep in mind the bed should always be the focal point of the room, so if you’re lacking a headboard, the easiest trick is to paint one on the wall! Mask off a rectangle the width of the bed and as tall as you want with painters tape. Design Note: Use the new green tape, not the standard blue, available at your home improvement store. Less chances of the paint seeping underneath. I hate it when the line isn’t perfect! Once you remove the tape you have the illusion of a headboard!
In addition to the painted headboard, or maybe instead of, you can also use a floor screen in a new way! Simply attach picture hangers on the back and hang directly on the wall. For around $100.00 you now have a creative second option as a headboard.
Another good idea I’ve used in my makeovers is to take 2’x 2’ pieces of plywood already pre-cut and then I stained it to bring out the wood grain. If you notice in the photo, I created a grid pattern, three rows of four each, but the key is to alternate the wood grain for more visual interest when you hang them. Believe it or not, in the center I attached a nickel-finish drawer pull for a more contemporary look. I attached the panels with small finish nails.
Finally the easiest thing you can probably do is add window panels on the wall behind the bed, whether there’s a window there or not. The fabric makes a statement in the room and gives the bed a more luxurious backdrop.
